The next Federal Budget in Canada is April 19th, 2021 at 4pm.
It has been 2 years since the last budget and it's coming within 11 days of the tax deadline of April 30, 2021. So far no tax filing extension has been provided to taxpayers in filing their 2020 personal income tax return(s).
So will the budget have taxes increase?
Is the capital gains rate changing?
Are higher marginal rates coming?
Wealth tax?
How much more pandemic spending will arise?
PPE and higher transfers to Provinces for more health care?
Will the government withstand a confidence motion or will an election result?
These are questions that will be answered in the next Federal budget and process afterwards, so stay tuned.
